Love

I think that love is that most wonderful and often painful
feeling in the world. One of the most complex also.
I believe in true love. And I do believe it's possible
to find someone who will love you unconditionally.

Loving someone is very hard for some people.
Making yourself vulnerable by giving your love and
trust to another person is not always easy. Although,
personally, I believe the advantages outweight
the disadvantages.Being able to say "I love you" or even
simply "I care about you", "I want you to be happy" or
"You are very important to me" can change your life
and the life of the person to whom you say them.
Even though you may be afraid to say "I love you"
because you're afraid of hearing "I don't care" in return,
you may also be depriving yourself of hearing
the other person say "I love you too".

Writing

I have always loved to write.
I began writing seriously when I was 12.
I got published for the first time at the age of 13.
I write fiction and non-fiction: short stories, poetry,
essays, articles of all sorts,... I have kept a diary
since I was about 12, and write in it as faithfully
as possible. I also have a dream diary
in which I record dreams I've had during the night
that might inspire my writing.

Being a writer

I think that a lot of writers feel like frauds.
First of all, there are two sides to "being a writer."
Personally, you know you're a writer.
Writing is what you do. Being a writer is how you make sense
of the world. When everything is going well,
your sense of identity is clear. But we are constantly
asked to present a social identity as well.
Who are you? What do you do?
People label what they do for a living.
We may live to write and sometimes feel like we write to live,
but that often has little to do with money.

When people ask what you do, if you answer "I'm a writer,"
the next question is often "Oh, yeah, what have you published?"
And no matter if you have never published before or
your last novel is on the best-sellers list, you hardly ever
feel that's good enough. There's always something more
to accomplish. You're constantly reaching towards perfection,
but, as we all know, nobody is perfect.
