Ajax this week:

With astonishment I watched the game RKC-Ajax. In the last few weeks I allready noticed the rising of RKC in the league, normally a team that plays to stay out of the second division. Ajax started overwhelming but after a few minutes RKC figured Ajax out and the game was an equal game, no longer the usual showing of Ajaxpower. Still it seemed to turn out well with Ajax taking the lead in the 35th minute, Knopper scored after some magic on the leftside from Laudrup, whose technique stays unique. Knopper headed the ball in the net. After that the game lost all beauty and it was a continuation of chances on both sides. Also after halftime the only interesting moment was that Babangida, who played first time this season could immediately leave with a concussion. What was to be feared happened. Ajax got neglecting in the end of the game, thinking the game was allready in the pocket and forgot Lankohr in the 89th minute. Something like that is not good for Ajax standards. So the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Too bad that the luck that PSV and Feyenoord get is not going to Ajax, who immediately saw the gap to Feyenoord and Willem II grow to 2 points. This game is one to forget very quickly and just hope for recovery. Last but not least, compliments go out to RKC who played a good game.
Next game:
Ajax plays Vitesse at home next friday. And it seems to be the perfect time for it. Vitesse is still suffering under conflicts and their play has not been to convincing lately. Hopefully Ajax will forget the RKC game and concentrates on this one, witht he home-advantage and the situation in Arnhem right now, this might very well turn out into a win, something that Ajax needs.
Note for Ajax:5

Competition this week:
Feyenoord were damn lucky, it is shocking. A pure goal from Fortuna S was not spotted by the referee and that cost Fortuna S a point that it deserved and gave Feyenoord too much. With much arrogance Feyenoord started with a B-squad to spare the good players for the Champions League. And Fortuna S was better, sadly that what is justice does not have the deciding influence on the score and so Feyenoord were AGAIN too much rewarded for their pathetic play. PSV did not have to play, NEC was not able to play in their new stadium yet, so the game was moved, which was (too???)coincedentally exactly what the tired PSV-squad needed. Roda JC lost to Heerenveen at home,0-2 and Heerenveen is grabbing points, Willem II won and is following the top nicely, with nice play and aggression they won from AZ(3-1)and from referee Luinge who had his second very bad game in a row, this time judging a pure penatly as being a "schwalbe". Compliments go out to Co Adriaanse who stressed this out and has a good playing team. Vitesse won 2-1 from Sparta with luck and are halfway the table. Twente won with 3-1 in the Cambuur L-stadium and are looking selfassured. Finally FC Utrecht, won again with 2-1 from Graafschap and are surprisingly to be found in the top of the table, a nice 4th place. The 5th round was characterised by smooth victories but also too much luck for certain clubs because of referee-blundering (You know what I am talking about,Feyenoord and AZ)
Note for the competition: 7

Moment of the week:
At the game with Alaves, Barcelona lost because of some humongous slapsticklike stupidity from the defenders. They were just talking a little when goalie Hesp gave them the ball, they did not even notice it, result a goal for Alaves which cost Barcelona the game.Another moment is of course the bad decision of Bossen who obviously sleeps under a nice Feyenoord blanket and last but not least my heart jumped with yet another Knopper goal. The guy is gonna make it big time, mark my words!!!

(This week again Knopperfan and Fortuna symphatizer)
