The romantic age concentrated mostly on emotion and imagination while stressing the value of each individual. In contrast, the Victorian age stressed the value of society and its culture as a whole. These characteristics are shown through the works of the writers of their corresponding era. Similarly, they both highly valued human worth, just in different ways. The romantic age valued human individualism while the Victorian Age valued humans together as a whole. Through the many achievements of each era, new ideas and new styles of literature developed. All in all, the two eras greatly developed and contributed much to British literature. Thus came the arrival of the modern age.
