THE ARTIST
Margaret Brezden is a self-taught photographer who has used the media as a means of recording a small part of her heritage in an effort to perpetuate a life style few of us would have endured. She has extended her artistic expression to encompass an old art that has just recently regained popularity "Hand-cloring". Using her artist oils, Q-tips and cotton swabs, she tediously colours her prints to produce a photograph that has a look of aged beauty.
Her work encompasses a number of hand colored photographs that are limited to five editions and has used a number of her black and white images in an artcard series. Margaret's work has been displayed in numerous local juried art and photography exhibitions and was exhibited at the B.C.Arts Festival in 1995. Her work has been published in Camera Canada Magazine, Beautiful B.C. and Photo Digest.
