Poems about "Longing"

Another way to describe this feeling might be "long-distance love." Not the same as "Long-distance relationship," mind you. It's a statement on the distance between the lovee and the loved in mental miles, or in attitude; the psycological distance the lovee perceives between his love, inside, and her knowing.

Witnessing
Thinking about his love, the narrator describes some of how he feels about her.
TrŽs Intressant
French and German for "Very Interesting"; a peek into the thoughts the narrator thinks while he searches his mind for his feelings.

Wide, though the Earth is round
The narrator has an interesting experience searching for his love, with a surprise ending ...
Off, as though we knew what we were doing
The narrator meets up with a former flame, years later ... time may heal all wounds, but it does not extinguish all fires ...

Arise, sweet one
The narrator tries to convince himself that he will survive the tests he is presented with.
The Same River
A Shakespearian-style sonnet. The river is clearly a metaphor ... but, for what?
Try this for a change
I don't know what to call this form, but check it out. It's basically a 2/3/3/2 (syllable) form. The narrator thinks some things while he or she is ... occupied (use your imagination!)
If the grass were ever green on my side of the fence
Fanciful conversation between the narrator, the wind, and the stars. Allegorical.
Our friends, ourselves
One view of how friends ought to relate to one another.
Broken
The narrator gets some news he didn't want to hear ...
