CAST OF THOUSANDS
(well, maybe a little less than that)

Some of these names are real and some are pseudonyms. Same thing goes for the names in my entries that haven't made their way here for one reason or another. I won't tell you which is which.

CAROL
Your humble journaler and webmistress. Likes the internet, works for an Evil Media Conglomerate, still trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up.

Then again, she's not sure she ever wants to grow up.

(See Your Humble Webmistress and A Few of My Interests for more info. Or just read the journal.)

FAMILY

MOM and DAD
Pretty self explanatory. The fact that they're the world's greatest parents doesn't figure into my own freaky little neuroses.

Mom is a sweet woman who pretty much raised us five kids by herself while Dad was sailing around the world while in the Navy and is a sucker for tear-jerkers.

Dad's Mr. Computer in our family, is a typical Dad in some ways and a neat guy. I just wish I could teach him a little fashion style.

Since they've become grandparents, they're really a lot of fun to watch. Almost stereotypical in their grandparent-ness.

RANDY
My older bro, by two years. Very sharp, very quick-witted, owns his own business which is more successful every year. We weren't very close when we were kids, but now that we're adults, we're closer than ever. I like him.

BOB
My younger bro, by eleven months. He lives about thirty mintues north of me with his wife, Gloria, and their four kids, Julie, Jessie, Alex and Aaron. Also sharp and quick, Bob's far more conservative than I am, and possesses the same entrepreneurial spirit as Randy. He's in the process of starting his own business. I like him, too.

LISA
My younger sis, by two years. She lives in Fresno with her hubby, Jeff, and their daughter, Courtney, and is expecting another child. She's very sweet, without being sappy, quite religious (I think sometimes she fears for my soul, heathen that I am) and is really trying to keep a computer out of her home. However, she recognizes that Courtney will probably need one soon. And yes, I like Lisa too.

TERESA
My baby sis, almost four years younger than me. She's a brand new mommy (to Ryan) and is loving every nerve-wracking minute of it. She's probably the most different from me in temperment (more volatile), but the closest to me in politics and spirituality. Of course, I like her. I like my whole damn family (I love the buggers, too).

NOEL, MATISSE, BJ & EDISON
My cats. Noel is the grumpy old man who's really a mama's boy, Matisse is the long suffering, loving middle child, BJ is a lover and can be quite calm for a kitten and Edison is fearless and the most frequent receiver of water-bottle wrath. They're frustrating as hell sometimes, and I love them all.

FRIENDS

JENNIFER (aka Jenn)
My oldest and dearest friend, married and pregnant with her first child. Currently an office manager and patients' rights advocate, she's also worked as a professional clown for over fifteen years. More than a friend, more than a sister. You can read my ode to her in this entry. Just an all around neat person.

SCOTT
Jenn's hubby. An excellent photojournalist who's fascinated by science, politics and cars, he's just a cool guy. I may call to talk to Jenn, but if she's not around Scott and I can talk for hours. I like that in my friends' SO's.

LINDA
My Dutch friend. She gets frequent mention in these pages. We met via her Mike Farrell Appreciation Page and, through e-mails, quickly discovered that we have more in common than our appreciation for a fine humanitarian. A very sweet woman, with a dollop of mischief and a heart big enough to embrace the world.

Can I Go Back to Francaise's Strand?
Well, ok.
