May you discover enough goodness in others
to believe in a world of peace.
May a kind word, a reassuring touch,
a warm smile be yours every day of your life,
and may you give these gifts as well as receive them.
God be with us, always!
Need your help in solving a mystery!
I am looking for any information regarding my great-grandmother, Agnes Roback Moat, born in Germany about 1874 and came to America in 1891. She lived in Chicago during the turn of the century. She had two sons, Kenneth, born in 1896 in Illinois and Norman, born in 1906, in Indiana. I have been unable to trace her family at all. I only know that she was married (maybe) to Albert Moat from Wisconsin (his DOB was 6/12/1867). Agnes died in Monroe county, Indiana in the late 1940's. Their pictures are posted below. This is my Great Uncle Rudolph or "Bruno" Roeback. He supposedly shined the Kaiser's boots, so he must have been closely affiliated with the German Kaiser. According to his uniform, someone said that he might have been a Liebgarde for Kaiser Wilheim. If you can give me any information associated with the area he may have lived in, or anything about the German Liebgarde, I would appreciate it!
