The National Museum of Ireland has bought a major collection by Eileen Gray.
In June 2000, the National Museum of Ireland acquired Gray's personal collection from her apartment in Paris. Carpets, chairs, tables, lacquered screens, frosted glass lanterns, prototypes, and photographs are in the collection bought by the National Museum for £900,000.
The collection was acquired from Mr Peter Adam, an art historian, who was Gray's friend and her biographer.
A special Eileen Gray Gallery is now open at the National Museum - March 2002. .
