Two souls searching
for what they cannot find;
Two steps forward,
one step behind.

Neither knows the other
though both are within reach;
One has much to learn,
the other has much to teach.

One climbs the mountains
with no one to share;
The other walks the valley
with no one to care.

Alone and lonely
they struggle on their way;
One curses the night,
the other curses the day.

Two hearts beating
in the cold lonely light
of the big star that's shinning
down on them tonight.

Endless miles of desert,
four footprints in the sand;
One lonely woman
and one lonely man...
