LE CLUB SPEW KYCKSTART ADVENTURE 2000

Friday 28th - Sunday 30 April 2000

What is Kyckstart? Kyckstart is a 3 day event organised by the Katoomba Youth Convention. It is an event with a long history, with thousands of young people from across the state assembling in the beautiful mountain setting of Katoomba to meet in innovative worship and to learn about God’s plan for humanity.

The morning and evening sessions are always huge, with great speakers and fantastic music and singing. Apart from the organised sessions, there is plenty of free time and stacks of things to do in and around Katoomba

This year, the theme is "LISTEN UP". Over the course of the weekend John Dickson, Matt Hunt and Jason Summers will be conducting seminars on this subject. Presumably it will be loud. Or possibly really soft. Either way , LISTEN UP!!!.

Accomodation: We will be lodging in style at the luxurious ‘Knox Majestic’ in Blackheath. This fully appointed manor style house boasts bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. As well there are walls and a roof in every room. There is a heated swimming pool within 4 hours driving distance. Beautiful mountain views are possible from several points elsewhere in the town. Guests will receive a complimentary choc bud on arrival.

Transport We will be taking a variety of vehicles (Maybe Phil will get his hot new wheels rolling this year, possibly some SPEW members travelling by train and met at Blackheath station on the Friday evening.

Meals The SPEW catering team will provide gourmet meals from Friday morning through Sunday Lunch.

Other Activities As well as the intense worship sessions, there will be brief windows of spare time each afternoon. There is the world famous coffee shop strip of Katoomba/Leura as well as the usual hanging out at the scenic railway, echo point, giant staircase etc. Weather permitting, and if people really ask nicely, there will be the option one afternoon of some abseiling from some easy sections off Narrow Neck at Katoomba. I suspect that we probably won't do that due to the been there, done that vibe thing. We'll see. Talk to STB/Musgroves if you have opinions on this one*
