My Interests

I have a wide range of interests - cooking, drawing & painting, craft & needlework, housekeeping, playing computer games, listening to music and reading books. Though I haven't had a chance to keep up with all of my interests, I have managed to keep in touch with a few.

Cooking has been quite an adventurous exploration for me. I always like to try new dishes, constantly innovating my present ones, that I do have some great dishes which I am proud of. I have experimented with Thai, Italian, Chinese and American cuisine. Currently I am in the process of creating a cooking recipes website. Recipes Website

Arts and crafts was one which I was much interested in my school years, but after that did not get much of a chance to improve upon.

I love music. I listen to Tamil, Hindi and English mostly. Some of my English favorites being George Michael, MLTR, Lionel Ritchie, Bryan Adams and Air Supply. Ilayaraja being my Tamil favorite. My favorite Tamil singers are SPB and Chitra. I was interested in pursuing studying Classical Carnatic Music, but I never seem to have got much of a chance. But nonetheless, I have explored my singing skills at school and college quite a bit.

As for reading books, they have been of constant interest to me. I read romances, thrillers, mystery and comedy mostly. I love watching movies too.

Being with Madhan, I have developed a keen interest in playing computer games. Though my initial stint has been with Tetris, Pinball, PacMan etc, now I have developed interest in playing more adventurous and strategy games like Cricket, Pool, Commandos, SuperBike, and more recently a role-playing game called Dark Ages of Camelot.

Traveling and visiting places has also been a favorite pastime.

Another pastime has been webpage development. I love creating new web webpages - both personal as well as for projects etc.

As a part of my work at Tata Consultancy Services, I worked on various interesting IBM Mainframe based projects for various clients, some of which I thoroughly enjoyed working for and learnt a lot. As a part of my Masters program at WPI, I have had a chance to work on various interesting projects in Visual Basic, Oracle, MS-Access and ASP. I thoroughly enjoyed the courses on Systems Analysis and Design, Database Management Systems and Project Management which gave me a real good exposure to the IT Management world. Currently, after joining Staples Inc. as Business Analyst, I hope to be able to use my IT experience coupled with my IT-Management-Business knowledge to be able to better serve any project endeavours.
