Vince's AOT '98 Page
During the Summer of 1998, Bravo Company 4th Assault
Amphibian Battalion deployed to Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California
for amphibious operations training. During this type of training,
the company gets attached to an infantry battalion to conduct simulated
amphibious landings. An amphibious landing is a complicated maneuver
that requires a high level of coordination among the naval vessels, assault
amphibian units, and ground combat units involved.
This is me sitting in the turret of one of my "hogs"
waiting to move out to the training area in the morning.
