1882-1945. He is the President of the United States until his death April 12^th 1945. It his under is presidency that the USA pass through the economic crash of 1929 and then through the second World War. As soon as Hitler starts fightings Roosevelt wants to take part in the battle but in the USA not everyone is on his side: the isolationnistes want to stay aside from the rest of the world and so the USA wait. But on December 8^th 1941, after Pearl Harbor, when Roosevelt asks the Congress the authorisation to go to war, everyone agree. He doesn't take part in planning the operations but still he leads his people and keep them united. He dies before seeing the end of war with the atomic bombs.
