In addition to plants and gardening activities, The Horticultural Greenhouse offers a variety of interesting hobbies such as Candy, the umbrella cockatoo. Candy is three yr. old and comes to work daily. Results of Candys works are making visitors laugh and feel good by swinging around on his perch and trying to talk. Cockatoos are social birds and enjoy being around people. Candy can eat almost everything we can except for chocolate and avacados. Cockatoos can live a very long life (80 years) if properly cared for. If you are interested in this type of bird for a pet, keep in mind 80 years is a long time. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
