Background

I was assigned to the OB Company, 525 MI Group from November '67, through January '69. I worked for Hq MACV, CICV. Every piece of paper I have, says; "Hq. MACV, CICV." I can't find any orders or pay vouchers. In any event, someone really took me to task. His position was that the OB Company belonged to the 519th MI Battalion. Considering the structure of the 519th, I believe he was mistaken.

I was assigned to the 519th at Fort Bragg, and it was part of the 525th. I have been enlightened by the information on the homepage of the 525th MI Bde., (Airborne). The 519th had a presence in Vietnam. For the most part, those were the folks who gathered information or extracted it from prisoners.

The current 525th is the 525th MI Bde., (Airborne). It is still located at Fort Bragg and has a home page at:

http://www.bragg.army.mil/525MI/

Right now DOD has its servers off line unless the server "knows" you. Hopefully they will find another way to deal with the problem.

Agent Orange

Nearly every soldier who went to Vietnam was exposed in some degree to Agent Orange. Agent Orange contained an extremly toxic substance which is causing a too many Vietnam Veterans to die too young and others to have significant disabilities and medical problems. Because the Vietnam Veteran had no way to know, some have passed this poison to their childen. When we came home, our society didn't want to know us and while we are better accepted today, our government does not want to know what it did to us.
