I'm researching the unit histories of the 7th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry and the 8th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry. I'm interested in obtaining a list of the casualties at the battle of Wildcat Mountain and learning the fate of one John N.(or H.)White, of Richmond, Madison County, son of Congressman John White of Kentucky who was Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives for the Twenty-seventh Congress, 1843-1845.

Actually, Gen. T.T. Garrard is the son of my direct ancestor, Col. Daniel Garrard and the brother of my direct ancestor, Eliza Ann Garrard Price. I am interested in his life and times as they are shared by my ancestors. Also, it is possible that he had i fluence on my ancestors. Eliza's son, William Luther Price, followed T.T's example and went to CA for the Gold Rush. Luckily for me, he stayed in CA while T.T.went home to become a celebrity.
