THE WALL
58,000+ of us live in this granite, and in the hearts of those who served with them.
I always think of Hayward Peleiholani who was killed August 26, 1969.  He was such a nice, easygoing guy.  Never complained, always did his duty.  You could  depend on him and his buddy John Pe

In July 1999 Golf Company had its second reunion.  There were, I think, 32 of us there.  I was somewhat hesitant about going, it had been thirty years, most of them were there at a different time and I wouldn't know them, etc.   But I'm glad I did go.  IT WAS GREAT.  It was so good to talk to people that were there, the feeling of common bond was overwhelming.

Next year we are going to meet in Memphis, Tennessee, I'll be there.

In the front, l to r we have Charlie Snow, Jack Boone, Doug Mohr, Travis Skaggs.
In the back l to r are Ron Ellis, Dick Croteau, Phil Cyr, John Jones, Duke Minton, Mike Smith, Bill Henry.

On Saturday night the manager  of the motel came out at 2:00 and told us that if we didn't hold it down he was calling the police.  God, we were proud, even after 30 years we still got it.  (I was even more proud to see that some of  those of us that had been "overserved" didn't get up and thump his lard ass.)

Harry Morris recently made a trip to Washington, DC and visited the wall and took the pictures above.  The local area chapters of Vietnam Veterans of America take turns washing the wall.  I find it very pleasing that it is "us" and not some faceless agency that tends to these men.
