Greetings from Kosovo,

I just wanted to keep everyone up to speed on what's going on over here in snowy Kosovo.  The soldiers are doing a great job at every mission we have been assigned.  It's obvious, that the long hours of training that we conducted back at Fort Polk has paid off!  The Platoons are setting the standard in everything they do.  For example:  Weekly, Task Force 504th MP gives an award called the "Dragon Fighter of the Week".  This award is awarded to the soldier that has gone above and beyond the call of duty for that week.  Currently, 209th MP CO soldiers have won 3 out of the 4 weeks that the award has been given.  This is just one indicator of how well everyone is doing.

There is one area that we were not prepared for - dealing with the snow and extremely cold weather.  I've heard a lot of the soldiers saying "I'll never gripe about Fort Polk's heat again".  All kidding aside, the soldiers have adjusted to the weather and everything is going great.

I appreciate all the emails and letters from everyone at Fort Polk. Spouse's thank you for keeping the soldiers spirits high by writing, emailing and talking to your significant other.  Hopefully we will get on a set schedule of when we're able to make VTC calls.  If you haven't had this opportunity yet, please get in touch with one of the FRG contacts or call the company at 831-8334/8335.

In closing, I want to say that you should be very proud of your spouse's.  They are conducting an important mission and doing it as true professionals.  The 209th MP CO has set the standard for other companies to emulate.  Thank you for your support and prayers.

                                             Sincerely,

                                                    Jeff Bevington
