Welcome to Part II of Our Trip for 2003
Enjoy the Ride Along and Sites


Barbara flew home to Des Moines on Fri. August 1st. I followed leaving on Wed. Aug. 6th at 2am and taking Kita to Nancy's in Rosamond, Stopped and said good bye to Denise, then headed east, Taking I-15 then I-70 on to Green River Utah where I stopped to get some rest. Then up and back on the road again at midnight on through Denver, Then I-76 to I-80 and straight on to Des Moines arriving at her house at 5:30pm Thur. the 7th.


Now here is a "REAL" Corn field

Tue. Aug. 19th Barb and I drove to Storm Lake, Ia. took pictures of "Ted" Strong's headstone (Nancy's Dad) for the family Memorial Site. We stopped at the lake, ate a snack there for lunch and took some more pictures before returning to Des Moines.

Aug. 23rd. We went to my High School Class of 1959 Pig Roast here in Des Moines

Aug. 24th Had a BBQ at Barb's house with all her family present
_

Wed. Sep. 3 We drove down to Lake Ahquabi one of my favorite fishing, camping areas as a kid growing up in the Des Moines area.

Sep. 9 went to Red Rock Lake, This lake was built on the Des Moines River after I left in 1960, and covers most of the old hunting areas where I used to go.
_

Then on to Knoxville, Ia. to visit the National Sprint Car Museum.

The Last time I was here was 45 years ago

We left Des Moines Tuesday 16 Sep. at 6:45am heading west on I-80 to I-76 on to Denver then I-70 stopping for the night in Idaho Springs, Colorado. Up the next morning and on through eastern Utah

Stopping the 2nd. night at Panguitch, Utah. Back on the road the morning of Sep. 17th going through Bryce Canyon National Park which was a very cool 28 degrees

Then on through Zion National Park

Deciding to continue on to Rosamond and see daughter and 5 of my grandchildren here, We stopped for the night at Mojave. Up the morning of Sep. 18th and on to my home in Santee, Ca.


Sep. 23rd Attended Grandson Deshawn's Birthday Party at Farrell's

Sep. 24th Drove to Los Angeles, Took the coast route up enjoying the sites. Then we spent the night in Culver City so Barbara could catch her early morning flight out to Des Moines on the 25th
