Navy League Cadet Corps Micmac # 48

Teaching the Youth of Halifax (10 yrs ~ 13 yrs) about the Arts of Small Boat SeamanShip while instilling in them a strong sense of Self-Reliance and Self-Discipline since 1958 .

Canadian Tribal Class Destroyer HMCS Micmac had a Ship's Crest depicting the Warrior-God Glooscap. His right hand holds the magic stone canoe which could expand to any size he wanted, while his left hand holds his tomahawk. Later, after the Second World War, the ship's crest was changed to a Fern, used by Glooscap to defeat his evil twin brother in battle. The Navy League Cadet Corps Micmac uses the original crest as their own and it can be seen on any of our Micmac cadet uniforms.
