(FAQ's)

Who are we?

What do we do?

Living History - As re-enactors, we demonstrate to the general public, how the common soldier of the Civil War lived and fought. We set up an authentic camp, and through the use of original and authentic reproductions of various equipment, we demonstrate how the artillery field piece is loaded and fired during regular programs. We often perform living history events for schools, festivals, and other public functions. Please feel free to contact us for your school or other organization functions to obtain further information.

Reenactments - In this type of event, the Battery sets up an authentic camp and participates in mock battles involving other re-enactment groups. These are organized events, usually in conjunction with the location or anniversary of an actual battle of the Civil War. Every effort is made in this type of event to demonstrate actual tactics, procedures, and scenarios of the original battle being re-enacted. We have participated in numerous reenactments at locations such as Gettysburg, Antietam, Manassas, the Wilderness, Chickamauga, and many other significant battles of the Civil War.

Tactical Situations - For this event, the Battery joins with other re-enactment groups to form a small Brigade commanded by a Captain. The Captain, along with other staff officers, uses his tactical skills, trying to out-maneuver the Confederate forces. During this situation, the men camp and fight according to the tactics in use during the war. Usually, these events are closed to the public.
