thank you so much for this page on the Tucson, my father was one of the many men who served on her. He passed away Feb.4,1976 at the age 54 from cancer. He would be proud to know the someone is keeping the memory alive and that I have found this informati n on her.

Very impressive page. You might want to check out my small contribution to World War II history at the above URL. It's a day-by-day history of World War II. Comments and criticism are welcome.

Was trying to find out how to get on the ship roster prior to our USS Tucson 8th ship reunion in San Diego on 14 April,1999. I could advise for the ship crew to look up the Tucson web site and to log on/in. I served on Tucson as a YN2 in Navigation/Com unications Division. Thanks

Thanks for a great page. Just so you are aware, I am currently working on a book that will cover all 11 ships in the overall Atlanta cruiser class...Of course the Tuscon will be a part of this. the book is in it's research stage and is set for publicati n at the end of this year. I am to talk to those who served (or their relatives) and am collecting unpublished photographs to be included. If anyone willing to lend them (or good photo copies) out I would be very grateful (please be assured they will be eturned in the exact condition they were sent in and proper credit will be given in the book to anyone willing to contribute) . Please drop me a line and I'll keep anyone interested posted as the project moves forward.....

Liked your site - keep up the good work. I'll be back to see what develops. I'm interested in building a model of the Tucson as well as the sub that currently bears that name (SSN-770). I'm looking for pictures and other info regarding outfitting, camofla e, etc.
