OK, YOU THINK YOU GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A CITY OF MIAMI POLICE EXPLORER? HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED:

* Be a minimum of 14 years of age and in the ninth grade or higher

* Parental approval including a general liability release

* Be enrolled as a full time student in a public or private school. College students are allowed to be Explorers too, however applicants over the age of 21 will not be accepted.

*Maintain a "C" grade average or better

*Have no criminal police record

*Be in good health

*Complete an 80-hour training program. (This program is called Explorer Academy. You can still be an Explorer, but in April you must attend the Academy.)

*Pass an interview with a panel of Police Explorers
