Well, since there are so many of us XSives in the L.A. area
we should get together to admire each other's bikes. So, since
somebody must choose the time and place (and since I got here
first) I will be at the Rock Store on Mulholland Highway between
1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday May 16, 1999
and will buy a beer for every XSive who shows up
(or a coke if he prefers.) Look for my bike.
It is easy to get to. Get off the 101 at either Malibu Canyon
Road or Kanan Road and go south about 5 miles to Mulholland
Highway. The Rock Store is located between Kanan and Malibu
Canyon on Mulholland in the town of Seminole Hot Springs, south
of Agoura Hills and north of Malibu.

Actually, the shortest way to get there is
to take Kanan about 3 miles south from the 101 and turn left on
Sierra Creek Road.
You take this about 1/4 mile and it intersects
Mulholland. Turn right and go west about 1/2 mile and you are at
the Rock Store. Can't miss it, bikes everywhere. This is the
shortest way but not the most fun as there are more twisties on
Mulholland.
BTW while you are in the area one of the best rides you will find
anywhere is Latigo Canyon Road from Kanan to the PCH or in the
opposite direction. Latigo Canyon starts at the PCH and goes
north over the mountains and then intersects Kanan about 1/2 mile
south of Mulholland Highway.
If coming up the PCH turn onto
Latigo Canyon, follow it for about 20 minutes, turn right on
Kanan then right again on Mulholland then about 1~2 miles to the
Rock Store.
