Welcome to the Webmaster's Living Room

Hello all and welcome to your webmaster's online living room! I've always wanted to set up a spot on the site where I can inform you about updates and throw in some random thoughts. Well, the online living room will be the forum for my informal communications. Hope you enjoy.

March 2007 Update

I'm still here! Our hall, managed by the Corsac Association, was sold earlier this year. This brings to an end many celebrations and events held in that facility. The main page has a link to our history where you can read about past events.

As I've stated before, I'll continue to keep the site online as a tribute to current and past members pf Post 731. I hope you enjoy your visit. Please take a minute to sign our guest book.

July 2002 Update

Haven't done much these past couple of years with the site. I did remove some of the non-CWV, non-military links sections as I wasn't able to keep them up to date. The site will always have the History section and the links to some of 1998 - 1999 issues of the Short Sheet. I hope the site can remain "as is" for the indefinite future with occasional updates to meeting dates and elected officers.

January 2000 Update

Links Update: I guess the biggest changes to the site in the past several months is the expansion and layout change of the links sections. Hope you get a chance to check them out sometime.

Scrolling Message Board and more toys: In addition to the links sections updates, I've added an AP Religion News tracker on the first page (the "index.html" page), a calendar tracker on main home page ("CWVPost731.html"), and waving military flags at the top of the home page with links to their respective sites. I also added a Credits section at the bottom of the home page, but this addition has a long way to go.

Short Sheet Update: Sorry to state that I haven't had much time to work on the "Short Sheet" newsletter. I think I can submit quarterly updates, but hope the Post can find an editor that can devote more time to an integral part of our Post.

Web Site Communications: The web site is slowly being noticed ny the CWV and Internet community. Our Guestbook has several new entries. I try to submit out Post to the more popular search engines to gain more exposure to searches and it appears to be working. Please do take a moment to sign the Guestbook before departing.

Check below for updates to my projects and funnies section

2. Added an "Honored Members" section

5. Added recent editions of the Short Sheet

Danny's Digital Recommendations

Tune In to the Rich Levine Show: First off, I "highly" recommend the Rich Levine show on WPHT for both computer novices and experts. It airs on Saturday usually between noon and three and is "very" caller-friendly.

They obviously need to time-limit their calls, so Rich has set up an online Q&A bulletin board. Rich also features an electronic magazine (referred to as "ezines" in Internet jargon) which comes out once or twice a week and contains interesting information on recent computer and Internet activity.

Rich's site is available at www.computertalk.net

Lockergnome - my Favorite Ezine: Chris Pirillo has put a lot of time and effort into establishing one of the best newsletters/ezines around. Check out the site at www.lockergnome.com.

Chris has established a set of Lockergnome newsgroups which I find very useful. I'll speak more about newsgroups in a future update, but for the time being think of them as email bulletin boards. The newsgroups in conjunction with the newsletter are one of the best free online services on the Net.

Danny's Projects

January 2000 Update: It took about 15 months, but the basement refinishing project is done! Well, I have some minor touch ups remaining, but we're moved in and enjoying the new room.

We had all but lost all the room in the garage, so we purchsed a new shed. Making the frame for the shed was a bit of a nightmare at first, but with the help of Gle, my brother in law, it was ready 2 weeks before the shed was delivered - phew! Now that the fence is back in place (had to tear down three sections to make room for the shed to be delivered), the back yard is in half decent shape too.

Next project - an addition? Stay tuned ...

A Laugh or Two

Many of these stories came from The Australian Christian Network "Religious and Other Humor" page. Some are from my own collection.

I tried to limit the selection to short, funny, and "relatively" clean stories. If you have any classics that fit this criteria, email me and I'll consider including them to the list.
