Our 2nd annual Fall Festival was a solid success with almost 100 excited guests filling the banquet rooms at the Ramada Inn Cinference Center in McHenry for a welcome to Mother Mary Ann Bickerdyke of CivilWar fame. This year's event, a special benefit for our high school scholarship fund, featured a solid acting performance by members of our Round Table, the Bickerdyke Players, as they recounted tales of Mrs. Bickerdyke's war time nursing career. The dinner included a lovely fashion show featuring some of our lady members, against a background of Civil War music by violinist Daniel Lang. A fine offering of books by Bob Murphy, surgical and military exhibits by Frank Matuszek, Dan Mitchell, Gene Salecker, Judy Leifheit and Dick Pasquini added to the enjoyment of the evening. The speech by Mother Bickerdyke ( Mrs. Pat Pasquini ) was followed by prolonged applause as a tribute to a great Civil War lady.
