Live in Dade City, Fl I am currently trying to find some info on the squadron that would show it In Cuba arround the times of Dec. 1960 and June 1961. The Squadron should have received the Navy & Marines Corp Expeditionary Medal and I am trying to find out if it was ever award d to it. I have some good pis. of the old ADs and of a med cruise. the old patch was also different. We were aboard the Essex, Shangri-LA & Wasp. Made 1 med cruse, 1 nato cruise was in cuba at least five different times. Had one bad crash on Essex, not ou planes but lost 2 from our squadron and i think it was four planes parked behind the super structure on the elevator. Have a good pic of that wreck also. I am now retir d and living in Arkansas. E-mail me if you get the chance! Great site by the way.

I was in VA-176 from 1985-87 and then again from 1990-1992. I have always thought of it as being one of the best squadrons and wish the navy never would of gotten rid of the best airplane the Navy has ever had. My last cruise I was assigned as the super isor for the Buddy Store Team. We were solely responsible for the KA-6D's and the A/C with Buddy Stores installed. Thanks for the great site, it brings back some real good memories.

Am writing an operational history on the A-6 Intruder with my brother Rick Morgan. The book is an outgrowth of the three-part history of the A-6 in last year's The Hook. Would like to hear from anyone with VA-176 who has sea stories, particularly from t e Grenada Invasion and the Lebanon raid of fall 1983. I should be on the net after the first of the year; in the meantime, any who's willing to help can contact me at Mark Morgan 291 N. 10th St, Central Point, OR 97502 or (541)664-7240. Member Tailhook Association, A-6 Intruder Association, several others. Much obliged!
