Most American guesthouses usually are open to active-duty and retired military as well as DoD civilian personnel. Official travel has priority on available space, but there are often rooms available for those traveling in a non-official capacity. Room charges will vary by room type, number of people, travel status, and from one installation to another. Single rooms may go for as little as $10 or as much as $100.00 a night. In the listing of guesthouses, an (A) designates an Army facility, (N) a Navy facility, and (AF) an Air Force facility. Reservations at Army facilities can be made by phone from the United States by calling toll free 1-800-462-7691 or DSN 312-897-2790; for the Navy dial 1-800-628-9466 or DSN 312-942-5173.
