American Eskimo

The American Eskimo is an alert, bright, quick-witted dog that can be obedient and playfully mischievous. Not all Eskies are one-person dogs, but they are extremely loyal to their families, and expect to be treated as a member. Eskies are good with children as long as they are treated with respect.

Our Eskimos are considered to be miniatures. They should weigh between 10-20 pounds and are approximately 12-15 inches (30-38 cm) high. American Eskimos do shed a bit, so twice a week grooming is a must. They also need daily exercise and adequate time spent outdoors.

The Eskie is a healthy breed, prone to no real problems, and is a long-lived breed (fifteen years).
