The Slave's "Show and Tell"

Hootie, Freddie, Feather, Molly and Chloe

Hello. The FurAngel Slave here! Welcome to my Slave "Show and Tell". I hope you enjoy it and please drop me a line or sign my guest book.

Being owned by piggies is one of life's little treasures. I have a whole herd and I am soon going to have more! All but two are rescue pigs and although I have had success in finding good homes for a few, most of the time I just keep them. I have one room in my big old house devoted to my cavies and 2 rabbits.(Another room is reserved as a Ferret Frolic and the five cats run free) It is time consuming but the love of these little critters is worth every minute that I spend. I have several cages and a regular baby playpen that they exercise in everyday. I devote at least an hour a day just handling them and giving them kisses. I hope you enjoy the pics and each little story about them. They are all different and very special.

Check back often because this page is under construction. (As my Life is!) I plan to have more links and information for caring for them very soon. (All in the interest of becoming a better slave.

Hootie

Hootie, aka "Hootsie" "The Hooter" This is my big boy and "King of my Herd" He is definately an "in charge pig" with loads of personality. He has a wheek that will pierce your eardrums too and he uses it every time he hears a bag rattle. He loves "Pig Time" and is a real cuddler. Hootie will actually nip my hand so that I will rub his nose and under his chin rubbed. Then if he feels that I am not doing it "just so" he will bite me.(Gently the first time) Of course..... I do exactly what he likes to spare myself his wrath! He gives lots of Kisses and is in love with Molly his cage mate. After Molly has her babies, Hootie will go to get "fixed" and I am dreading the separation because he crys and runs around rumblestruting when I take her out of his cage for grooming.

Freddie, Drop Dead Gorgeous

My husband is fond of saying that if Freddie was a person he would wear a pocket protector with 15 pens. Our gorgeous Freddie is a "nerd" Yes, he is. Sigh. He likes all his stuff sorta of lined up in his corner of the cage. He never plays with any of his stuff, he just doesn't want it moved at all. Freddie is a superb "rumblestruter" He is quite a sight and rumblestruts for no apparent reason, even when he is alone. And for good measure he always adds a "lil popcorn" right at the end and then just looks very pleased with himself when he is through. He even moves his little mouth which makes it appear that he is talking to himself. Too Cute!!!!!Freddie and Chloe will be having babies soon. Freddie does not like to be held and had a biting problem when he was younger. He doesn't bite anymore and we pick him up and give him pig time every day but he doesn't like it at all. He really hates for me to kiss him but he gets one everyday anyway and has become more tolerant.

Feather

Feather, aka, Grandma and Granny. Feather is old. In fact Feather is the oldest pig my vet has ever known. She is 8. And the sweetest pig anywhere. Three months ago someone who found out that I take in unwanted piggies called me. She told me that Feather did not have a good life and that they had had her 8 years and did not want her anymore. They had intended to let her out in the woods to let nature take its course. Yikes!!!! I took Feather in and she looked clean and well cared for. But for the first two weeks I had her, she bite me everytime I went near her to pick her up. I continued to pick her up anyway, gave her lots of treats and even bought her her own penthouse. She HATES other pigs. Granny is now the sweetest pig ever. She loves "pig time" and sits on my chest for as long as I let her and gives me lots of kisses. Feather is my girl. I have vowed to make whatever time this little piggie has left on earth the very best!

Chloe

This pretty little girl is suffering from one of my bad hair cuts! She was a god awful mess when I rescued her from a pet store in such deplorable conditions I reported them to the SPCA. I call her Chloe and she is a sweetie pie and very pretty and very pregnant. She was suffering from vitimin "C" defiency but is better now. She is getting lots of veggies, hay and pellets, I will keep Chloe. Judging from her condition she has had a hard start in life. She loves cucumbers and is very vocal. She is Freddie's cage mate.

Molly

Molly is sweet, gentle and very timid. She too is a rescue piggie and has suffered one of my bad haircuts. Smile! She was matted from one end to the other and had been left to sit in runny poop and urine. Her little belly was covered with a bright red rash that had scabbed over. I am still concerned about her. She will sit very still and loves for me to rub her head. Then suddenly she just screams and struggles then is okay. It almost seems like she may be having a flashback of a bad memory. I don't know if that is reasonable but that is what it seems like to me. She too is pregnant and is expecting her babies who knows when!!!!! I will post an update. I intend to keep Molly with my herd. She will never be mistreated again.

Check back here soon. I will be adding some information on Cavy Care in this section soon. I am hopeful that it will help others to provide better care for their piggies.
