As a minister's wife, my primary interest is assisting my husband as he works in the Master's kingdom - the church. My heart is happy trying to give others my time and help. Whether it be preparing food for the sick, visiting the hospitalized as well as in people's homes, or mailing cards to cheer the downcast, my prayer is that God will allow me to lift someone's burden and raise their awareness to His glory. We are members of the Church of Christ. The Church of Christ takes the Bible as its sole authority. It seeks to speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent. In June of 1997, we began to work full-time in the mission fields of Georgia. After 4 1/2 years, we left mission work and moved to Fort Payne, Alabama. However, in March of 2002, we moved to a growing area on the westside of Jacksonville, Florida. We are enjoying the wonderful Christians here. I really enjoy keeping my grandchildren. They are a special joy and are growing up so fast. As far as hobbies, my mother and I do needlework on plastic canvas making all kinds of neat things like Bible covers and Kleenex Box covers. She makes hand decorated stationary and creates crocheted items. I also do cross stitching; crocheting; and painting of sweatshirts, canvas bags, and aprons. Together we make holiday items as well as other truly unique gifts. For example, we make fans out of plastic forks decorated with lace and flowers. Most of these are used in the church ministry, and some we give as gifts.
I also like to collect things. Now that I live in the wonderful state of Florida, I have begun collecting sandals. The weather is so warm here, these are the shoes I now prefer. I also collect Labrador "stuff". I have Lab wall hangings, banners, candles, sandcasts, windchimes and lots of pictures. My other big collection is earrings. I probably have 300 pair from the wildest colored to the most sophisticated styles. I even have some made out of construction paper. I enjoying wearing these different earrings and like all the different styles.
