PERSONAL INFORMATION

I was raised in Texas. Texas is home for me with all my "kinfolks" except for one cousin who lives in Florida, and two nieces who live in Georgia. I married a Georgia boy in October of 1965. My husband, Miles grew up in the Atlanta, Georgia area and was a high school mathematics teacher and part-time preacher for the Church of Christ until 1997 when he left school teaching to pursue full-time preaching. After living near Savannah, Georgia for fifteen years, we lived in northeast Georgia for 4 years. After a short stay in Fort Payne, Alabama, we have been working with the Chaffee Road Church of Christ on the western side of Jacksonville, Florida since March, 2002. The area around the house and church building are still very much "country" but a lot of homes are being built around the church building. We love where we live, in a very spacious home, but we especially love the wonderful Christians here and the fine leaders of the congregation!

We have four Christian children who are all healthy -- two girls and two boys.

Rachel, our second daughter, born in 1975, graduated valedictorian out of 400+ students from Bradwell Institute in 1992. She went on to Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia to get a B.S. in Chemistry - summa cum laude. She was the first student in Georgia Southern's 80 year history to get a chemistry degree with a 4.0 gpa (all A's) over-all. She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia on May 6, 2000. She was 6th in her class of 83, and the only senior named to Who's Who in American Collegese and Universities. She has the distinction of receiving the most money in scholarships while in Veterinary school. Rachel's paternal great-uncle, Howard Garner, graduated from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine in the early 1950's and went on to a career in the Air Force. Rachel is in Savannah, Georgia, practicing veterinary medicine with Banfield the Pet Hospital (inside PetSmart). She has her own homepage if you wish to visit.

David, my third child, born in 1979, has a very "bubbly" personality. It seems everyone likes David. He is probably one of the best song leaders in church services I have ever heard. He has a magnificent singing voice and leads very well. David loves to work outside and his job is with Pike (doing work for Georgia Power/Savannah Electric) in the lowlands of South Georgia around Savannah. He married Monique in December 2005.

Mark, born in 1982, is my "baby", (and he used to hate to be called that!!!). He stands about 6'3" and weighs about 200 lbs., which is not a real suprise considering he weighed almost 11 lbs at birth and was 22 1/2 inches long. While in high school, he played the tuba . He also enjoys automotive mechanics and plans to make that his life's work. He, too, has a beautiful singing voice and has led singing at church services. He currently resides with his brother David in Savannah. In his first job after he turned eighteen, Mark worked with a company which made him a supervisor before his twentieth birthday. He now also works for Pike (where David works). He is engaged to Holly and plans to marry this sping.

In April of 1998, my husband and I joined that wonderful "elite" group of people called "GRANDPARENTS" when David presented us with a grandson, Kyle Andrew Peeples. Six weeks later, on June 4, 1998, Diane and her husband, Mark Wilson gave us a granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Wilson. In February, 2002, Diane and Mark had another lovely (and lively) daughter named Hailey Danyel Wilson. Then David and Monique presented us with a new grandson on April 2, 2005. His name is Brayden Andrew. Mark will have a ready made family when he marries Holly, because she has a precious blond haired doll named Hannah who is four. You know, if we had known how much fun grandbabies are, we would have just skipped having kids and jumped right to grandkids. HA! :) :) It doesn't quite work that way, does it?
