I have no hope but a kind heart, no prayer but a persons capacity to give and give some more.
Let that person have knowing hands to hold me, a wise and patient mind to teach me.
I know I am not alone but just one of thousands of homeless pets and more will come after me but please let that person be strong enough to help me too.
Let my cries be calmed by soft words and my ails be tended by experience.
I do not understand this loneliness, I want only to love and be loved, to give my whole being to one I can call "master".
No soul but one who has seen others like me could help me now and I don't want to die like this.
My spirit is gone from me, my faith is no more, please God let there be someone who can find those things I have lost. Let their experience bring them back to me that I may shine again.
Lord when I go to my new home, be it in this world or the next, let me remember my rescuer for all time that I may kiss their hands and lay at their feet when next we meet.
