Gosh there is so much to taking care of us... Where to start? We need real sun or special lightbulbs. We have special dietary needs too. We need a varied diet much like yours. We are omnivors like you and need both animal and vegetable. A list of eatable plants are here for us.
We also require earthworms. Yummy! They must be dirt raised not manure raised though! Also flies, spiders, and crawly bugs you swat daily. Crickets and grasshoppers when they are in season make excellent snacks, and fish make an excellent main course!
Cuttle bone floating in the tank too, not only gives us calcium, but is great fun to swim after. Also crushed multiVitamin sprinkled on our food is ok too.
Another requirement is space! Diggler and I share a 50 gallon condo mom got us. Also make sure you use a good filter. We are... quite messy with our waste etc.
