Who Am I?

I teach Physical Education & Health and 7th-Grade English at Cowan Jr.-Sr. High School in Muncie, Indiana. Cowan is a small school, 300 students in grades 7-12, and is located south of Muncie in rural Delaware County.

I have been at Cowan for 20 years, but I have been involved in education for 23 years total. I also am coach of the girls' varsity track team; a position I have held since 1979. I have also coached girls' junior high and varsity volleyball and girls' varsity and junior varsity basketball during my tenure here at Cowan.

I received my B.S. degree in Education from Ball State University in 1972; my M.A. degree, also in Education from BSU, in 1979.

I have two daughters. Erin, 22, is a senior at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN; Kyle Ann, 18, is a freshman at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Both girls are studying to become teachers. Erin is finishing her student teaching and will graduate in May, 1999.

Dog training doesn't take up all of my time. I'm also an avid golfer, and I enjoy swimming and water skiing for "outdoor activities". As far as "indoor activites" are concerned, I enjoy reading. Stephen King and John Grisham are my two favorite authors. I also enjoy spending time on my computer; hence, the interest in creating a web page. I've met many very nice people through the Internet Mailing Lists, and I've even had the opportunity to meet several of my "chat room buddies" from the Dalmatian Chat Room.
