Message from Rhonda

My message for this newsletter is; It's hard to believe that the holidays are here and another year has gone by. Our shelter is changing and we are growing to meet the needs of our community. With your support we were able to find homes for over 860 animals. Our new spay/neuter program allowed our vet, Dr. Michelle Cruell to do over 385 dogs and cats this year. This holiday season we should all be reminded to be thankful for what we have. So I just want to take a minute to thank the following:

To the Board of Directors: Thanks for your support in letting me do what I have grown to LOVE.

Kim Teeter, Manager: Kim you are indeed my right arm and I'd be lost without you. Your support and loyalty is truly a blessing.

Cathy, Anissa, MarDell: What can I say but THANKS for all your hard work. Without you our shelter would not be the same.

Mary Turner & Lou Hook: Both Mary and Lou are faithful Junk & Treasure volunteers. They volunteer their time to help out with the monthly fundraiser. Thank you to all of you that send in your donations and adopt the animals from our shelter.

Ok lets talk about Dollars for Dollars. The shelter has an anonymous donor who will match any funds we receive in the months of December thru February. That's right Dollar for Dollar. So if you were thinking of making a donation NOW's the time. We will have a thermometer out at the shelter to let everyone know how we are doing.

On a sad note, the Humane Society lost a dear friend on Sunday November 12, 2000, when Mrs. Frances P. Bunnelle pasted away. Mrs. Bunnelle had been a loyal friend, supporter and advisor to the Humane Society for over twelve years. She loved animals and without her, we would probably not be in existence today. She is largely responsible for the wonderful facility that we are now housed in, which is why our name was changed to Saint Frances Humane Society several years ago. We will miss her, and are proud to carry on the good work that meant so much to her.
