ALL OF THE MAUVE HOUSE CATS ..PAST AND PRESENT..HAVE BEEN FOUNDLINGS

On the grounds of the Parliament Building, in Ottowa, Canada...under a grove of trees, close to the statue of Queen Victoria, you will find a shelter for abandoned cats and kittens. For many years the cats were cared for by an old woman and the office workers took up donations to help her care for the cats.

Eleven years ago the woman passed away and an older man took over the care and feeding of the cats. During this time the office workers stopped offering their support and a donation box was added to the fence, for tourists to contribute what they could.

We found this shelter 4 years ago and this year on our trip to Canada...we made a spectal trip to the grounds to see if the shelter still existed...IT DOES!!!

This is the youngest resident of the shelter...Isn't it just about the cutest kitten you have ever seen?I think the government of Canada should be complimented, for allowing this shelter to exist. The tourists should be very proud to contribute to the upkeep for the wonderfull animals
