Meet My Chows of Yesteryear

All waiting at "The Rainbow Bridge"

July 28 1981-October 24 1996

Kathi`s Konga Boy otherwise known as "Kong" was my first chow, purchased in a kennel where I was working at the time. His sweet disposition and calm nature is perhaps the reason I have gotten so attatched to this wonderful breed. He lived to 15 1/2 yrs,and in all that time never met a person he didn`t care for.

December 30 1984-August 21 1995

Kathi`s Doodle-Bug,"Doodle" for short was Kong`s son and my best friend.Unlike his father he loved to play,in fact he was a puppy most of his life. One of my favorite memories and I know this must sound silly,is when Doodle would bring his squeaky octopus and throw it in the tub when you would take a bath so you would squirt him with the water!!I lost him before his dad to cancer..I still have the octopus and the memories.

December 25 1982-October 1 1997

Kathi`s Konga Boys Faye Wray "Faye".Faye was my second chow and Doodles mom, bought on breeders terms from the same kennel as Kong.Definantly not breeding quality but we all learn somehow. She was responsible for Doodles playful side. She finally setteled down at around 12.She also outlived her son, living till the ripe age of 15.

December 18 1979-December 3 1986

Luba Myrovna of the Pad "Luba". I adopted Luba when she was around 5 years old, she was Kong`s mother and the kennel owner had no use for her anymore.I didn`t have her very long, she had a pyo. within the first few months, then within a year she died from some strange neurological disease. In that year and a half,I think I gave her a better life than she had known before and she left here knowing what it was liked to have a family and be loved.

December 13 1983-March 1 1997/June 24 1986-March 1 1997

Athena Love "Athena"and Kathi`s Kentucky Blue "Tucker". I adopted Athena from a family that couldn`t keep her anymore when she was about 1 1/2.She hadn`t been cared for and was emmaciated and almost bald. She had a 30" chain collar hanging around her that pulled all her hair out from her head back half her body. Her owners claimed she had so many bad habits, but nothing alot of love didn`t cure.Athena had a daughter"Tucker"they where always together,if one went the other followed. They eventually both died on the same day as well, one at home one at the vet both at the same time and both from cancer.

April 22 1982-April 2 1995

Kathi`s Teddy Bear or"Princess Theodora",Teddy was a very sweet girl that I adopted from a couple that were moving and could not take her.Teddy loved men and would con them anytime she could, she also loved kids and was quite the mother to any 2legged bundels that crossed her path. One of my favorite memories is what we call "the bone dance" which was when she would do a head stand practically to put her scent on a new toy.

November 19 1985-May 19 1999
Hazel or"Al De Bear`s Red Haze" was a very sweet girl that I acquired on breeders terms when she was 1 1/2 years old, due to hormonal problems she never had a litter and was eventually spayed.Haze got a long with all the dogs kinda like a big sister..in the end she was grandma as she was the only one left from the originals amongst a bunch of youngsters.Hazel was diagnosed with cushings disease just 2 months before she passed...the youngsters and I miss her greatly.
