Welcome again, to Lawrence Acres Nubians, as I said before my name is Marilyn,
My wonderful husband Jerry, and our Daughter, Kaylee, and I have been raising Registered Nubian Dairy Goats, for about five years now.
We live in Oklahoma, there's a year round creek, running through the middle of our property, its fed from springs under ground so the water stays ice cold all year long, its a beautiful place to live, the humidity is miserable but other than that its a great place to live, and raise our family and goats
We built our own house with the help of our family and friends, it was'nt a very big house at first, but now we have added on and there's alot more room .
We love to garden, but our ground here is so rocky, it wore us out trying to dig in it, so our solution is gardening in raised beds, the first year we built two boxes and they worked out great. we plan on adding more every year till we have enough to grow and can all the vegetables we can use in a year. We also planted a few fruit trees this year and plan on planting more in the spring.
Our goats provide us with milk to drink, Sometimes we make cheese and butter and goat milk soap from the milk.
When I have the time, My hobbies are sewing, crocheting, making quilts and of course raising nubian dairy goats, I love all kinds of arts and craft. My new interest is the computer Jerry introduced me to it when we got married.
