These are a few of Beasley and Cosi's friends from around the block
and across the world

Bilboe Baggins & Isha

As cute as it gets

Baggins and Isha are possibly two of the cutest puppies you're ever likely to see. They are of course Samoyeds and only about 12 weeks old in this photo of them, taken in our living room. Their owners accuse us of having spoilt them, as they will run and jump onto the lounge at home as well now. They live nearby in Canberra.

Dive on in

This photo was taken on the same weekend as the one above. That's Baggins in Julie's arms, taking some refuge from his much bigger comapanions. We bought the wading pool to provide some respite from the hot summer for Beasley and Cosi. Cosi was a little slow to get into it, but as you can see here, the heat finally got to her. On the other hand, Beasley has loved it from the start. He jumps right in at any chance.

All tuckered out

A little later on the same day and the puppies are keen to keep it going, but Beas has definitely had enough by this stage. An old fella like him needs his rest - especially when he's been chasing youngsters around the back yard for most of the day. Very sadly only a few days after this picture was taken Isha managed to escape from the yard at home and was hit by a car. Many hundreds of dollars later she is healing, isolated from Baggins and her mum. But it looks like she will make a remakable recovery.

Charlie

Just slightly intimidated

Charlie is a Border Collie cross, who is getting upward in years. This is a picture of him with my sister, who recently married his owner and now all live happily in Sydney, Australia. Unfortunately for Charlie, as his demeanour in this photo clearly illustrates, he is a little intimidated by the youthful exuberance and of course the size of his cousins. He enjoyed this walk around he park near our place, but so long as he was able to keep his distance. We're sure over time he'll come to appreciate the companionship of Beasley and Cosi.

Cloud

Just Hangin' Out

Cloud is a happy, healthy Bull Terrier, a native of Victoria and a friend to all in the animal kingdom. She lives with her dad and mum, Stephen and Janine. She was recently sited in the Australian Capital Territory, although reports have been received of her cruising down the Hume towards Melbourne, her head out the extended side window of her Dad's Monaro.

James

James with the big guys

James is the son of friends of ours from Sydney. This photo was taken during a Christmas picnic in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Considering that Beasley, Cosi and James all stand about the same height, he did remarkably well not to be terrified by their willingness to play. As illustrated here, Beasley and Cosi love to play with little kids about as much as they love toplay with other puppies.

Jellybean

Man this guy is big

Jelly is a young Dalmatain who lives nearby and this is a photo of her meeting Beasley in his first month here with us. At that stage Beasley was lacking in size compared to Jelly, but there has been a role reversal in the interim. Beasley really enjoyed this afternoon, except for the fact that Jelly was much quicker than him. He ran around and around trying to keep up. Finally he collapsed in the middle of the back yard and simply watched. Although Jelly taught Beasley to be a little more adventurous. At this stage Beasley was hesitant to wander far from the back step. He was and still is a big sook.

Jesse

Jesse

At the time of this photo, Beasley and Cosi had not met Jesse. She came to live with Tracy and Craig just south of Sydney only a week before this picture and is only 9 weeks old. She is incredibly cute and boy can she run for a little fella. Once she has had all of her shots, she'll be down to play with Beasley and Cosi...and they can't wait.

Jesse

Not only is she extremely photogenic, she is proving to be a very quick learner. Jesse has been going to puppy school and enjoys it emensley. She has also been making lots of new friends at puppy school and in the park on her daily walks.

Kira & Dax

Our closest friends

Kira and Dax are our closest puppy friends, living only a few doors away. Dax is a Silky Terrier/Jack Russell cross and Kira, a Rhodesian Ridgeback cross. When they first started to play Beasley was smaller than Kira and would roll over in submission at Dax's barking. The size tables have definitely turned in the past 8 months or so. But still Dax manages to keep Beasley at bay if she really wants. Beasley and Cosi enjoy the work out that they get chasing Kira around our yards. Kira is amazingly fast and agile. Both Kira and Dax love going camping with their owners Carl and Monica.

Lotta & Sipi

Lotta

This is Lotta and she lives in Tampere Finland with Satu Kytölä and her newest buddy, Sipi. She's ready for some hard work in this shot, hitched up to a tradional buggy for transporting people and things about. She's just about to hit 8 years of age, but as you'll see in the photo below, still ready for a good time.

Sipi with Lotta in the snow

The smaller saint in this photo is Sipi. Sipi and Lotta obviously get on very well and in this photo are playing a game that Beasley and Cosi enjoy daily. We call it sharks. It involves a stand off and playfully baring their teeth at each other, trying to get the upper hand. In fact, when Cosi gets right into it you can actually hear her teeth clicking together. Unfortunately, they've never had the opportunity to play in the snow, which looks like a heap of fun. I'm told that Lotta and Sipi have lots of saint friends in Finland. Terveisin and kiitos to all our Finnish friends.

Swim-time Friend

Unknown friend

We don't know much about this little guy. Only that he too was swimming at the Lake one day when Beasley and Cosi were there. He also loved to chase sticks out onto the lake and as you can see in this picture, joined in the effot to bring the stick to shore. He is one of many dogs that Beasley and Cosi have meet while at the lake.

Tutu

Will you kids leave me alone!

Tutu is the close friend of Jellybean and lives with Alex in Canberra. She is a very grand old lady and somehow, despite her arthritic joints, manages to keep Beasley and Cosi under control. She is like the local doggy granny. Alex saved her from the pound, where she was being held on death row. She had been abandoned by her previous owner. But with a lot of love and a little bit of time, Tutu has come to love her new home. She has a voracious appetite for exercise and regularly has 2 walks a day.
