Laws require children to be immunized against as many as seven infectious diseases before entering school. The immunizations protect children,and others around them,from these serious illnesses. School children are required to be immunized against diphtheria, measles, rubella (German measles) and polio. most states also require immunizations against tetanus, pertussis and mumps.Each child should have a permanent immunization record that documents the type and date of each immunization.
