WOFF WOFF

Hi everybody, my name is Bubble Gum (it grows on you) Jade's story about me, made me reflect back to when I first came to live with her.

Let's see---- I was going up the road to visit a nice girl who always gave me something to eat--one day I saw her and another lady. I found out later was her mom talking to the people I was living with.

I was the reason Traci and her mom Susie were here. They wanted to take me and give me to a girl named Jade. My previous owners were moving and couldn't take me. (my lucky day?) I liked this girl Traci but she was giving me a bath and cutting all my fur-- my beautiful locks--gone laying there matted and dirty on the ground, how rude-- did I have no say here. I did feel all fresh and new again, but did miss that doggy smell.

I was them loaded up into a car, I didn't care much for this--I keep getting farther and farther away from my playground. Where are we going. Finally we arrived at a house and a little blond haired girl was there waiting for me. Her mom and dad came to pet me too! Is this my new home. Looks alright, so far. Where's the water bowl and food bowl---why is everyone looking at me and trying to run their hands over my back and belly. Quit- hay I'll make you quit--I'll snap at your hands and see if that works. Well the little blond girl doesn't do that much anymore but her mom won't quit---- when is she going to get the message I don't want her to do that-- the last place hurt me when they did that--but so far the blond girls mom is being really gentle. I guess since she not about to give up, I might as well lay back and enjoy--hay this is nice--I kinda like this, it doesn't hurt at all. (Since Bubble Gum neglected to tell you I will, It took about six months to get to the point we could pet her without her bitting our hands thinking we were going to rough house with her--but today if she wants to rough house she comes and unties your shoes, that's better than having her nibble on your bare toes.)

Now go away, I'm telling this story.

Lets see--yes I agree I like to make my great esape. I just can't help it--you know the old saying, "The Grass Is Always Greener On The Other Side" well, with my help--ha ha--I can make it greener.

Jade has been a fairly good friend to me-- I always have water and food, maybe that's moms doing-I have my favorite sleeping place, behind the couch on the heater and air-conditioner vent. All the modern conveniences--who could ask for anything more--or on the back of the couch-it a good spot to watch the front door to make my great escape.

Jade was bummed when she moved here, what about me- I lost all my doggy friends and being new was having a hard time meeting new friends. I wasn't going to get the chance of going to doggy school and making new friends. Oh well, the neighbor has a dog named Mouse and we became friends, she's so small I know how she got her name.

My only real problem is when Jade decides to dodo me (don't ask) it involves my nose not painful or anything but very distracting. The other thing sometimes she tries to cover me up with a cover-I guess that's to get back at me when I go attack her when I see her moving under hers. I just wanted to play, I didn't know that when she was under the covers, wiggling them around, enticing me--she was going to sleep. Humans, go figure.

The thing I regret the most is when, I make a great escape,(that feels so good!) but, if it happens to be treat day- no treat. I feel this is cruel and inhumane behavior-but that's the rules, so I have to live with it. Just wish I had a better system of keeping track.(Some treats are better than others, you know.)

That's my life--in a nutshell--eating, sleeping and try to run--who could ask for anything more.

Thanks, for taking the time to hear my side.
