The Blessing of the Animals
October 2nd was the birthday of St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals, so many churches held special masses to bless the animals, in honor of St. Francis. My friend Michael's mom, Janice, invited me and my family to attend the blessing at his church, St. Mathias Episcopal Church of Dallas. My mom and dad and I attended the mass. It was held in their beautiful rose garden. About 20 dogs and their owners attended. Here are some pictures from that day.
