I got the gardening bug in the early summer of 1997.  A portion of the yard was dug up to install rural water, and my grandma had received a free package of zinnia seeds.  The rest is history!  :)  The picture to the right is that same spot one year later.  Zinnias are in the background, and yarrow (my first periennial purchase) are in the foreground.

The summer of 1998 saw me well and truly hooked but I was running out of room so my Uncle created this area in the back yard.  I love the way the apple tree looks in the background.  Now if I could just get rid of the grainery.  In the flower bed are Easter Basket tulips and grape hyacinth.

Corner garden 1998  This site is the lowest spot in the garden, and tends to be very boggy. In this bed are Dahlias, marigolds, and the onle lone red salvia that grew out of the packet of salvia seeds planted.

Corner garden Spring 1999
This was my first try at a color schemed garden (blue, white, and yellow).  I love the way the white and yellow look together, but disappointed not much of the blue came up.  Next year Im going to put in more blue hyacinths, and try some forget me nots, and blue columbine.

Corner garden again.  In this picture you can sort of see the lone white and blue hyacinths that came up.

The view out the kitchen window in summer 1998.  I wanted alot of color to give my gran beauty while she did the dishes.  In the flower bed are cosmos, marigolds, and zinnias.  I turned this area into a pink garden this year but Im not to happy with how it looks.  It looks to garish.

All this gardening at the farm inspired me to garden on my balcony.  I love the way this planter turned out.  Im not sure what the yellow flowers are.  When I bought it I thought it was a New Zealand Impatient, but the leaves look more like a Begonia.  Also in the planter are cockscomb, and moss rose.
