This is Oink.  He was a stray living on the streets when I took him in during the fall of 1992.  I think he was about six months old when I got him.  At first I was just going to let him be an outside cat that I would feed.  But everytime he was outside he would go pick fights and them come running to meowmie.  He would climb into the bushes in front of my apartment and yowl!  All the neighboors would look out the windows to see what on earth was going on.  After being embarrassed to death a few times he became an indoor kitty which he really doesnt seem to mind.

Oink was going to have a "cute" name that would go with his brother Figaro's name.  But after he ran up my leg and stole a slice of pizza from my mouth I started calling him Oink.  We get some looks at TEDs office when the vet asst calls us in.  But I dont think it would be a good idea to change his name six years later.  Besides when it comes to human food he can still be very piggy.

Oinks favorite toy is a little ball.  He holds it in is mouth and runs all over the house yowling.  He will keep that up until he finds me and then lay the ball at my feet.
Oinks favorite occupation is the pursuit of humoon food.  This occupation has resulted in some scary moments for meowmie.   One day I brought home leftovers from a family dinner.  The phone was ringing when I walked in the door so I laid the plastic sack on the table.  I was talking on the phone when I heard the sack rustling.  I looked up and saw his head in the sack.  I yelled No and he jumped to the ground.  The handles of the paper sack were tied around his neck, and the paper sack was around his body.  He was terrified, and was running all over the apt practically running up walls.  I tried to catch him but he was moving to fast for me.  Finally he went and hid under the bed.  I got him and the poor guy had been so terrified that he lost control of his bladder.  I removed the sack, and made sure he wasnt hurt but for the rest of the night he stayed under the bed looking out periodically for the return of the evil sack.

It took me some time to warm up to Oink.  I only took him in because he needed a home.  If I had been going to get another cat I would have gotten either a white, calico, or tiger cat.  But slowly he wormed his way into my heart, and now I dont know what I would do without him.  He is my affectionate boy who sleeps by my side.   I call him my little purr puss.  I dont even have to pet him.  Just the sound of me talking to him gets his motor running.  He is very much still a shy kitty.  Im glad I gave him a home.

Oink is proud to be a member of  the Brotherhood of Bold Brave Black Boy Cats.  Click on the black cat below to see other members.
