Welcome...Cindy's Corner

I'm Cindy! The Tabby Cat

Howdy! My name is Cindy and I am 5 year olds. Yup a whole Paw! My birthday is July 4, just like Joan's. If you haven't visited Joan's site then you don't know what you're missing. Joan hasn't always been nice to me. She didn't like it when I first came home from the Animal Shelter. She stayed upstairs because she couldn't go downstairs. I stayed downstairs for the first few weeks because Joan wouldn't let me upstairs. She got use to me after a couple of months. She tells me later that she just thought her family that I was invading might not love her as much. But you want to know something? Come closer, because I whisper low. Turns out they loved her more when they got me. They love me too!

When I came into Heather's life, (that's my human) I was very small, only 6 weeks old. My previous humans put me in an animal shelter because they didn't love me. I didn't sit there for long. Heather came in with her dad and her sister and looked at me and other cats. Then left. A lot more people came and left too. The next day, I saw them again. I was so excited. Heather came and played with me while her sister looked at other cats. I did the cute thing, I nibbled, I gently hit. Her sister wanted the other girl in cellblock 6, but Heather was hooked on me. Her dad was a little uncertain. He had a cat for 18 years and it passed away in 1985. He didn't want another cat for a long time, but decided that a cat-human relationship is what every cat should have, as long as it's a loving one. So after argument between Heather and Liz (heather's sister) the attendant came down the hall. Stopped and pointed at cell block 6 and picked him up. She looked at him and inspected him, then put him back. She whispered something into Heather's Dad's ear. Then she put him back and came down the hall further. Mine was the last cage. She stopped at me and knelt down to my eye level, opened the cage and said, "Yup, this is a good kitty-cat." She brings me over to a table where she does some test making sure I was okay to go to a new home! I was good to go when I came out negative for Feline Leukemia. The attendant put me into a big box and off I went. I stayed in there for only a few minutes. When I reached Heather's house I felt home. The new cat toys, the new litter box, and the FOOD! I met her mom and two brothers, and of course Joan.

Joan and me get along better now that I am older and I don't fit into her mouth that easily. Her and I spend a lot of time together playing, eating and grooming together. She's more like a mom then anything else. We're a real pair together. I am an indoor cat that loves the outdoors. I won't go out with my owner on a leash. Joan and I have a well-put together plan. Joan when she's outside comes and pushes the door open to get into the house, before Heather can come close the door I sneak out. I know it's wrong of me and I scare my owner, but I come back within 15 min. from the escape time. The Dog and I also do a lot of good together too, like bark and meow when a car comes up the driveway. I wake up Heather in the morning 15 min. before the clock is suppose to go off. We help out a lot!

I enjoy belly rubs, being carried around, ignoring my human, sleeping, cuddling, getting into trouble, and of course, eating. If you want to know anything else about me then just e-mail me with questions. E-mail Cindy
