This is a tribute to Bonnie,
the "Little Brown Dog". She was a beloved family
member and friend for more than fifteen years. She was especially
important in the life of one person... her "Mom" Susan.
While she didn't take to all people right off the bat (men
especially she had trouble warming up to)
she usually came around... she was a toy poodle after all, and they
have a reputation to uphold! She also came to accept
life with that "C" word... Cats! She begrudgingly
shared her mom with Oreo* (with whom she became best
friends and they often went to the movies... ~long story~), Sonny
(whom she tolerated) and Buster (who, because he was a kitten,
was a constant source of irritation).
Bonnie also had
"cousins" with
whom she spent quite a bit of time. She checked in to the "Mallory
Pet Hotel" on numerous occasions and would share the bottom of
the bed with Daisy & Kelly. She also ran into Chewy* at the
"hotel" as well as had her over for visits at her place.
And she didn't get to see them as often, but she loved her cousins up
north... Buddy, Zeus, Tony and Butch*.
(*Bonnie
is with Oreo, Chewy and Butch now, and I'm sure they are all running and
playing and happy as can be... waiting at the rainbow bridge)
We'd
like to share with you some of our special times with Bonnie
Bonnie was a Mother's
Day/Birthday Present in May of 1984. (You can
barely see her there peeking out. She took to her
new "Mom" right off the bat!)
To say she was
pampered would be putting it mildly! |
Christi often shared
her meals and treats with her! |
Fresh from a bath...

Santa never forgot to
put a little something in her stocking! (she was always a good
girl!) |
Here she is ringing
in a New Year! (although looking like she's partied out!) |
She would often visit
her cousin Daisy! |
Posing in front of
some lovely flowers! |

REQUEST
FROM THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
Weep
not for me though I am gone,
Into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long,
Upon my soul's sweet flight.
I
am at peace, my soul's at rest,
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed
For all those many years.
There
is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember
not my fight for breath,
Remember not the strife,
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.
