This page is dedicated to my beloved Whisper who passed on in October of 1998.  He was my first dog as an adult and taught me, or forced me at times, to learn all that I know about dogs and about many other things.  I am who I am today because of my profound love for him.  Whisper, rest well my friend, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten.  You live on in my heart and soul.  I love you deeply, and miss you every day that I breathe.  I think you would be proud of me now, as you were such a good teacher.
Here is the story of Whisper, more or less.  My ex-husband, Jack, worked with a gal looking to adopt a puppy from a shelter.  One Monday he asked how the search had gone over the weekend and she replied that they only found one 6 month old pup available, but it was deaf, so they didn't want it.  He told me this and I went nuts about the shelter putting that dog down just because it couldn't hear.  Enter Whisper into our lives!  We weren't set up to have a dog and hadn't had one since we were kids.  You know - Mom always took care of everything.  Well Whisper set us, more particularly me, on a crash course on dog behavior, obedience, and much, much more in time!  That's him on the left with me back in March of 1996!  He was a big guy!
You can blame it all on Whisper!  He started the legacy!  In this pic Whisper had just won first place for big dogs and second overall for the Canine Halloween Costume Contest in 1997.  Every year since then me and one of my puppers have won a first place at the event which was changed to the Canine Olympics in 2000.  I went as 'The Dog' (a spotted one of course!) and he was 'The Fool'!  Yep, that's my leg in the spotted socks!
