Ch.Shownell's Laura Ashley

"Cindy"

Cindy came to us at the age of 6 months as she was returned to the breeder. Cindy was a very pretty little girl and was a reluctant participant in the show ring. After much persuasion and encouragement there came the day that she finished at the outdoor show held in Kamloops, BC. I must say that was a great day as that was the very first time she showed any happiness at all and that was after she received the Winners ribbon! Hmmm she must have suspected that that was her last day in the ring! This graduated her to the whelping box to try motherhood. That was not in the cards for her either. This can be a hobby of great frustration and disappointment and so it was with her but on I went, proving to all once again that I am just as stubborn as my dogs!

Ch.Shownell's Cherry Brandy

"Brandy"

Brandy was the first male I had the pleasure of knowing. He showed us just how wonderful they could really be. He was but the first of the many boys I have had the joy of knowing and in no small part because of him the boys have a special place in my heart. Brandy was the first attempt at becoming involved in the chocolate colour. His sire was the first I had ever seen and so I was smitten! Brandy would always be there for a hug and a cuddle and was a true companion at home. He was always eager to please and since it was still early in my own show career he would always be a bit uncomfortable in the show ring as my nerves went down the leash to him but he finished as a puppy, making friends everywhere he went. Having since had the opportunity to know other chocolates I now know that he was typical of that background in his temperament.

Ch.Shaydatan Captured Tamihi

"Cappy"

Cappy was a dream come true puppy for me at the time. I had long admired the dogs of Rebecca Regamey of Shaydatan and when the opportunity came to take this little sweetie home I scooped her up and was gone. She never did grow very big but she had lots of energy and loved to go visit at the dog shows. It didn't take long for my friends to greet me and my little "Wind-up Toy"! Those legs of hers would just start going a mile a minute before she hit the ground and then she was off! She was guaranteed to put a smile on your face no matter how you did in the ring!

Ch.Spear's Tamihi Top Gun

"Chuckie"

Chuckie was the result of a co-breeding of a bitch I had bred and later sold on a co-ownership. I had kept pick bitch in this litter and he was the pick male. A very nice couple, Gary and Helene Vegh, were waiting for a bitch in another litter to become old enough to go home with them and so were visiting my home every week to check on her progress. Well Chuckie got them hooked in his little paws and it wasn't long before they were making plans to add him as well. He was a happy boy that loved to play the clown and they loved him dearly. He enjoyed being both a couch potato and the center of attention in the show ring.
