There is a terrible problem with surplus wildlife and exotic animals that come from private trading and breeding. This sanctuary is trying to answer part of this great need and, with funding, will expand. "Linda Barcklay, Director"

One of our outside compounds where primates living here can get lots of exercise, fresh air and attention. There are heated rooms for the primates during cold weather.

WHERE DO THESE SURPLUS CAPTIVE ANIMALS COME FROM?

Many of these animals are kept and bred by dealers in the private wild animal trade. Others come from the surplus breeding by zoos or research institutions which are retiring animals used in laboratories or animal agriculture facilities.

We have dedicated our time and energy into providing a permanent home for these unwanted, abused and needy primates with your help.
